20 million low-birth-weight and premature babies are born each year. One of the biggest problems these children face is hypothermia, simply because their bodies aren't developed enough to stay warm. Sadly, 4 million babies die within their first month of life, and those that do survive often develop life-long health problems. Embrace aims to address the issue of global infant mortality by providing an innovative, low-cost infant warmer. Unlike traditional incubators that cost up to $20,000, the Embrace infant warmers cost less than 1% of this price and is portable, safe and works without constant electricity. Designed like a miniature sleeping bag, the warmers contain an innovative wax pouch that is slipped into a sleeping wrap and maintains a constant temperature of 98.6(o) F, critical for baby's survival, for up to 6 hours. The warmer can be sterilized and reused, giving a single device the potential to help save between 36 and 50 lives. And at $200, the infant warmer provides a feasible and scalable solution.
 

With Mother's Day just around the corner, Embrace is the perfect non-profit organization for Winnie's next Charity Challenge!

Winster is offering a way for players to make a difference for mothers and babies around the world by donating their points to Embrace. Our goal* is to raise at least 450 million points from our community. For every million points collected, Winster will donate $1 to Embrace on behalf of our community. Your donations will help infants in developing countries fight hypothermia and keep them alive. If we are able to reach the goal before 5pm on Monday, May 21, 2012, we will throw two special Happy Hour celebrations in honor of the donors. In addition, Winnie herself will kick off the program by donating 20 million of her own points!

The idea is simple - play free online games at Winster.com, earn points, and donate them to Embrace Global. As a donor, your screen name and profile picture will appear on this page (unless you choose to be 'anonymous'). You can donate as many times as you like, to become a 'Champ' (two million points), 'Rockstar' (five million points), or 'VIP' (ten million points).

To thank you for your generous donations, Winnie will present you with a virtual Limited-Edition Philanthropist Hat that cannot be purchased from the Winster Gift Shop. Visit this page regularly to check on our progress!

*If we do not meet our goal by the deadline, Winster will collect all points donated and send a check to Embrace Global of $1 for every million points (rounded up to the nearest $1).
